Professional Biography

 

Kaylee Garrett is currently a freshman at Southeastern University where she is in the process of obtaining a bachelor of science in Nursing. Kaylee grew up in Kissimmee, FL, her whole life and loves to go on nature walks during her free time. Kaylee is an aspiring registered nurse. She choose a career as a nurse because it offered everything she was looking for in a career- many opportunities within the career, flexibility, meaningful work, and she will never get bored.

 

During her years in high school, Kaylee received awards for perfect attendance and honor roll. In her senior year, she became a registered medical assistant (RMA) and registered phlebotomy technician (RPT). This required Kaylee to complete real office hours at a doctor’s office. Being submerged in that small medical environment confirmed Kaylee wanted to further her knowledge in the medical field. Ultimately leading to the choose of becoming a registered nurse. Kaylee decided to attend Southeastern Universities bachelor of science in Nursing program. While deciding on which school to attend she looked at location, size and most importantly the success of their nursing program. Southeastern had everything Kaylee was looking for.

 

Just starting as a first-year student at Southeastern, she has seen a lot of change from high school. Her certifications for the programs that she received in high school helped to motivate her to want more and to be the best at what she does. Kaylee is most excited about being able to expand her knowledge while studying Nursing. In the next ten years, she sees herself having a well-established career and attending Graduate school to obtain her masters. Receiving her masters will allow for further career advancement like being able to share her knowledge with peers by becoming a charge nurse.

 

Even though Kaylee does not know what hospital or medical center she will work at she looks forward to the adventure. Kaylee is eager to see what her future holds.
